Make Critical Changes Better, And Make Them “STICK”

Companies are routinely making major changes to systems, processes, organizational alignments, and more. When change is done really well, nobody notices. However, few corporate change initiatives are raging successes. The sad fact is that most do not live up to expectations.  Many are abject failures.  And everyone notices.

Change initiatives often produce a variety of undesirable effects that are avoidable. Everyone has “war stories” about dysfunctional change initiatives.  Come to the November 18th COFENG meeting to hear Art Weeast, an experienced Change Agent, share the secrets of how you can Make Critical Changes Better, And Make Them “STICK.”

If you are in transition, you will learn a new set of questions for informational meetings or interviews that show “you get it!”  If you lead a mission critical change initiative, you will learn how you can get recognized as one of the few leaders who can successfully drive difficult changes.

You will come away with answers to the following questions:

• As an employee, there are only two people you want to hear from before you can accept the change. Who are they?

• Employees go through five stages before any change is realized. What are they?

• So how do you achieve successful change?

• What results should you expect?

Art Weeast is a Business and IT Improvement Leader with extensive experience in maturing an organization’s processes and teams using certified process improvement and organizational change management methods. Art has been successful in leveraging his in-depth knowledge of people, business processes and technology to effect changes that stick.

Art can be reached at aweeast@comcast.net or (720) 231-4722.

With regard to future meetings, please mark your calendars for the fourth Wednesday of the month and try to keep the date available. Interviews, work, and family emergencies are good exceptions.

3. Polish your 60 second announcement (you will be timed!!).

DIRECTIONS: This is just south of I225 and DTC Boulevard). The door and parking lot opens on the west side of the building to Ulster.  Look for the flags in the parking lot. The easiest way to find Morton & Co's office is to exit I-25 at Belleview and head east towards Ulster Street, then turn left or north on Ulster. The building is on the North East corner of Ulster & Tuffs (4600 S. Ulster Street), located TWO BUILDINGS north of McCormick's and Schmick's. The parking lot entrance is immediately right after the bus stop on the right-hand side. There is a PENDUM sign as you enter the driveway, turn left towards the next building. The building is connected to a similar, taller office building on south side by a large flagstone patio and wall. There are flags in front of the parking lot on the west side of the building.

If you haven't been here before, I suggest that you use Google Maps on the EventBrite invitation to get the detailed location as it may be hard to find the first time.

Lance Butler, our host, instructed building security to keep the front doors open until 6:00 pm.  If the doors are not open, please call us on our cell telephones and Lance or others will let you in.
